On July 1, 2026, Columbia Engineering hosted its 4th Annual Summer Staff Social in Carleton Commons. The event brought our community together to celebrate staff achievements, recognize years of service, and enjoy an afternoon of food, fun, and connection.
Dog Therapy Brings Comfort, Connection, and Stress Relief to Columbia Engineering
Columbia Engineering staff had the opportunity to pause, recharge, and connect during a Dog Therapy program held on June 16, 2026. Coordinated in partnership with Alice! Health Promotion and Columbia Health, the program brought three certified therapy dog teams from New York Therapy Animals to campus, providing employees with a welcome midday break focused on well-being, stress relief, and community building. Staff were especially delighted to welcome a therapy dog team led by Columbia Engineering's own Michele Hoos, Executive Director of Communications!
SEAS Staff Zumba Series Brings Energy to the Workday
As part of Columbia Engineering’s continued commitment to employee well-being, the School launched its first-ever SEAS Staff Zumba Series this spring through its Wellness in Full Bloom initiative. Building on the momentum of previous wellness offerings, the program introduced a high-energy and community-focused opportunity for staff to incorporate movement, fitness, and fun into the workday.
