November 2024’s monthly Dean’s Office luncheon at Columbia Engineering featured a diverse lineup of speakers

Marionna Veryona and Bryce Randall Washington from the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) discussed how the organization is supporting students and promoting diversity within the Engineering community at Columbia. Daniela Elazari, Director of Well-Being from the Office of Work/Life, then spoke about the upcoming Yoga@Work initiative, slated for early Spring 2025, and emphasized the importance of well-being in the workplace and various wellness initiatives and resources available to staff. This luncheon concluded with a thoughtful address from Interim Columbia University President Katerina Armstrong. She spoke directly to some of our Dean's Office staff about broad university initiatives and goals, followed by a Q&A session, where staff had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with her vision for the future of Columbia. This unique luncheon was a wonderful opportunity for Dean's Office staff to connect with campus leaders and learn more about the resources, initiatives, and opportunities available at Columbia. We look forward to continuing these monthly gatherings to foster a stronger sense of community and collaboration within the Dean’s Office.
